What is CISM?

CISM is a structured, evidence-based approach designed to assist individuals, teams, and communities in managing the emotional aftermath of critical incidents. Originally developed for first responders, healthcare professionals, military personnel, and crisis-affected communities, CISM is now widely used in workplaces, schools, and other high-stress environments.

Our services include:

  • Pre-incident education to enhance resilience and preparedness

  • Acute crisis intervention immediately following an event

  • Post-incident debriefings to process trauma and prevent long-term distress

  • Referral services for ongoing mental health support

Why CISM Matters

Exposure to critical incidents can lead to acute stress reactions, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and burnout. By providing early intervention, we help individuals and teams recover faster and return to optimal functioning. Research shows that timely psychological intervention can:
•    Reduce the risk of PTSD (Everly et al., 2002)
•    Enhance coping mechanisms and emotional resilience (Mitchell, 2012)
•    Improve team cohesion and operational readiness (Tuckey & Scott, 2014)
